i have these testing strips that expire in january..i won't use all of them up before that time...so could i still use them even after the expiration date passes...

i think if you used expired ones the test result isnt as accurate...

Im almost 100% sure the meter won't even except them anyways I had some expired strips for my old meter and tried it out and I got the expired strip error.

I guess it may depend on your meter, Gemini, but I was able to use some expired strips in my Freestyle Flash. I's not recommended, especially if the expiration date was months ago. However, if they aren't yet expired, then they should be ok to use, even if you go into "overtime" with them. :D Hope this helps. :)

I'd use if they got opened before the expiration and used as soon as possible after opening them. The manufacturers build a little leeway into their dates, but don't count on that for too long.

well i have lot's of strips..and since i don't check that often..like i said they will expire long before i can use even half of them..guess got to make trip down to doc's office and get another prescription :whistling

I've used strips that were at least two months past. One of the times I used the control solution to see if they would test in range.

I use glucose strips past the expiration date. In fact, the Accu-Chek strip I used that gave a reading of 42 when the lab gave a reading of 45 had been expired for over a year and I have no idea how long they had been open since I just found them sitting in back of the area where I store the strips I'm about to open.
