Yesterday I went to the gym and decided to run 2 miles on the tread mill before I lifted weights.
After I lifted weights, I went to pick up my daughter and I felt shaky so I checked my BG and it was 69. I ate 2 15 carb candies and checked it 15 minutes later and it was 51!
I then ripped my insulin pod off my arm and drank a half a coke. 15 minutes later it was 76 or something like that so I knew it was going up. I ended up at 150 which isnt too bad I guess when trying to treat a low like that. I wasnt in my right mind ripping my pod off like that. Will try to remember next time to suspend insulin delivery...
My question is, is there some unspoken law about lifting weights and running on the same day? and if I can do both on the same day am i not supposed to do them back to back like that? I have done running and weight lifting on the same day before. Just not back to back like that. Always a couple hours between each activity.
