i'm curious!
was it a slow progression or did it happen quickly? were you adjusting your doses slightly or more sharply to account for the changes? how long from dx until your pancreas finally called it quits?
just want to hear everyone's stories if you are willing to share.
thanks!

it was a very slow progression. Even a year and a half after my dx my endo told me that I may still be in my honeymoon.

For me, honeymoon over very quick, as in a matter of a few weeks to a month. Insulin use perhaps doubling in that time.
I'd been foggy and ill for some time, perhaps 8 months to year, which leads me to think I imagine it could have been picked up much earlier given the right circumstances and medical attention. Then I guess I would have a had a much longer perceived honeymoon - possibly extended by using insulin. No way to prove that I guess, and I was also going through bad times anyway. So although it seems likely, my symptoms may not have been BG related.

It was pretty fast for me. Honeymoon came within 2-3 months after diagnose. And within around 6 months after diagnose my pancreas had kicked it completely. But i dare say i don't miss that honeymoon period. For me it was too many ups and downs and i couldn't trust my pancreas would help me, but at the same time i didn't dare to take enough insulin to cover what i was eating in case my pancreas decided to go for it. Had a fair amount of highs and lows during that time so thanks heaven it didn't last long! My body doesn't produce ANY insulin at all now, and i pretty much like it that way. Makes my diabetes more predictable :)
