i've seen there was several people here who either had ivf or had info about it. I just wondered if there are different types or ways that might increase the odds of sucess. I'm thinking of seeing a dr but I don't think I could afford more than 1 try. So thats why I went through ivf I would need to look into doing whatever to increase my odds.

Hi Christie
From my experience the treatments which may increase the odds of success are as follows:
ICSI : where an individual sperm is injected in to a single egg
Blastocyst (if reqiured) : this process lets the eggs develop over a 5 day period to see which are more likely to implant
Assisted Hatching : A small hole is made in the side of the egg to help the embryo escape and allows earlier contact between the embryo and the womb lining.
Unfortunately the more of these treatments you have the more expensive it will be.
Good luck

i don't mind spending the extra for an advanced therapy, i'd rather spend more and have it work than just do a regular ivf and have it not work. i'm not a gambler and its a lot of money.

I am an IVF vet. Over the past 4 years, I have had IVF stim for 6 times, IVF-ET for 8 times and changed 2 clinics. Never see a 2 line hpt and I thought I never will. But, during the rest month, we got our 2 lines :>
Since Aug 2008, I have been doing acupunctures (2x a week) and taking chinese herbs (residing in Shanghai so guess easier for me to locate a good Chinese physician). I stopped acupunctures after 3 months due to too out of the way but continue with the Chinese herbs.
I guess IVF is being too stressful for both my mind and my body. My FSH has risen in the recent months and at one time it rose up to 23. Which I know chances for me to get my success with IVF is very slimmed and quite hopeless.
So to me, I think being really relaxed, keep the positive mindset, a fit body PLUS TCM is the key to my success.
Good luck!
