Good-evening:

Lantus is my last shot of the day (Pre-Bed). I always keep it consistant at or around 1:30 A.M. Tonight however, I have to head to bed earlier. Thus when I do my shot around 11:30, there will be a 2 hour lapse of the Lantus shots. Does anyone think 2 hours will cause a reaction? I figured by the 22nd hour, the prior Lantus shot should almost be on it's way out? Thank you, for any & all advice.

Zach.

Lantus never lasted the full 24 hours for me, but it does in some people. I would venture a guess that it will matter very little. If you are at all worried, cut it back by a very small amount.

It takes a few hours for the Lantus to get up to speed anyway, so I don't think you will notice any overlap.

I overlap a couple of hours every weekend. Never noticed any problem.

I also doubt you'll find a problem, but I guess you never know, take care, and have hypo fixes by the bed in the remote chance there is more action at the wrong time in the night.

That is one small reason I tended to pick a time I'd be up, even if I went to bed earlier. If it concerns you, you could switch to an earlier time and stay there, to avoid the issue in the future.

I take 22u of Lantus every night sometime between 8 and 10 PM.
It seems to last through the whole day pretty well for me. Never have had a problem with overlaps.

I'm one of those people where Lantus doesn't last 24 hours but only 12. I take 15u at bedtime and another 12u in the morning. Go figure!!
