Hello... I am sure I have read something about this on the forum but can't find it for the life of me.... anyway...

In one of my local stores is this display with thie PGX daily on sale... You can look it up on the net but basically it seems to be a VERY high fibre pill that swells so much that it stops you feeling hungry (weight loss) and reduces the glucose index (GI) of all foods (by I guess introducing the fibre) and therefore leveling off your bs peaks and keeping your levels generally lower... is this the wonder drug we have all been waiting for????

Anyone used this and can share their experiences please. I am always on the look out for some natural product that helps with my bs levels apart from exercise and eating well (doing that already but still want to beat this thing even more).

Cheers

Never used this but I suppose adding fiber to your diet might help if it's low as a result of your normal diet.

It cant affect the GI of other foods, that doesn't make sense. If you take this AND eat less as a result, then it works. If you still eat the same stuff in the same amounts, then you will have no benefit.

Mixing low and high gi foods sort of cancels each other out a little.. ie a high food will be brought down when combined with a low one and vicky verky.

Someone must have tried this med out surely.

I remember in the 70's or 80's someone gave my mother something similar. My mother does not have diabetes, but the person who gave it to her was trying every "miracle" diet & diet pill she could find. I guess they didn't help or she wouldn't have given them away.

Fat Burners says it looks very much like Glucomannan, but costs four times as much.

Just an FYI.. All those Fat Burner / Slimming Pills Review / etc websites are a sham. I wouldnt trust any information off of them. I too would look to them for information, entill i noticed a trend. They all seem to push the same products. Decaslim, Fenphedra etc. I have never heard of any of the tings they say are amazing anywhere but these sites. And those are the only products ont he website that they provide you a link to a website to buy the pills off of ( suspicious? I think so ) And this isnt to say that they dont have any valid points about some of the products they are reviewing. -

Take a look at the fat burners, and slimming pills review. Choose random pills they list, and when you read through their reviews/ comments you will see generally there are 2 negative comments, and one comment that is half positive. Like "I lost 12 pounds in a year!".. They do it to make their comments look legitimate, AND also subtly bash the product.

I tried to leave a comment of my actual experiences, and was completly factual, honest, and to the point with my comment, and it got denied (My comment was a completly positive one about the supplement)

Sorry for the long comment. I only mention it because I was shocked when i finally figured it out. Once you see it, it becomes really obvious what they are doing!

What I originally was going to say it that YES, PGX is similar to glucomannan - in fact, glucomannan is a component of PGX. BUT pgx is a mixture of polysaccarides that when combined, become WAY more viscous than glucomannan or any other fiber on its own. Hope this was slightly enlightening!

My understanding at this point is it's supposed to be a highly engineered super fiber, and this product is namely aimed at big people to control their diet, by slowing digestion, and giving a longer feeling of satiety.

Because big people need a much larger dose of fiber than those normal guidelines suggest (50-100g daily, I read somewhere), entere PGX.

I've been toying w/ the idea of getting back on it, but I'm paranoid about other meds being suspended in a fiber jelly and not being properly digested.

I'd say look it up and research to death before calling it a miracle. Then try it if you like.
