So I did 4 days with sub 50 grams of carbs, then for three days now, I've eaten about 350-400 grams of carbs a day and as little fat as possible.

My BG has been very stable and I only take about 10-15 units a day of bolus, no basal.

I just don't get how this is possible.

If I eat candy or pizza, my BG would rise. But if I stay with just potatoes, oatmeal with milk, rice and chicken, without any sauce or anything like that, it doesn't rise much at all.

This is great and all, means I can diet on low carb a few days and my BG will be very good even when eating high carb.

Anyone have any similar experiences?

NO! Potatoes? I am, like, so envious! Are you a 1.5? At what age were you dx'd? I hope you are monitoring very often?

Definitely interested in what your c-pep is going to say Viranth, or if something else comes about! Just the lack of bolus is extremely unusual, it just doesn't fit in with the type 1 condition of insulin absence.

I guess if you are effectively type 1.5 and going through a stage of high pnacreas activity, it sure makes sense you can deal with a lot of carbs without much spike, as per closer to the non-diabetic condition.

I'm curious, if you do you want to lose weight, is that what you mean by dieting?

I am a type 1.5. If I eat low carb for a while, I can get away with eating higher carbs, but only for a few days. It definitely catches up with me. Maybe the low carbing pleases the pancreas so that it is well rested and can put out a little spurt of good hard work for a couple of days until it gets tired again. Not sure. :)

Yes, loosing fat. Down to 10% bodyfat now, going to take some pictures today, maybe I'll share some here.

Like it's said, I can go low carb for a while, and back to high carb and it will catch up with me. I took a c-pept test two weeks ago and I'm still waiting for the results.

So what do you do in exercise?

I'm speculating that you have very high levels of amylase.

That's very interesting, will have to get that checked.

Ant hill: I lift weights.

Measured my bodyfat again yesterday, it was now 9.4%, so I went from 10.65% on the 10th down to 9.4% in 3 days.

Very happy with the results, and we took a lot of photos and such, the photographer will edit the pictures and such, so we'll get them in a little bit I suppose.

? Why do you think that? Wouldn't it lead to humongous sugar spikes due to rapid digestion of starches?

OHO. So you are doing what runners call carb-ups. THAT is where it is all going ... you have like, NO insulin resistance, due to a huge carb disposition area! It converts into glycogen so rapidly you do not spike ... then gradually releases over the non carbing days.
