My Daughter Is A Single Mother 33 Years Old And Is A Type One Diabetic. She Is In The Process Of Appealing Social Security For Disability. She Has Share Of Cost Medicaid. She Is In The Hospital At Least Twice A Year For Her Diabetes And Would Have Died If There Wasn't Someone With Her Last Year When She Went Into A Diabetic Coma. I don't know about free pump information - maybe someone else will respond to your request.

Perhaps as a sacrifice to the pharm-industrial-complex, death may spark a bit more outrage at the cost of care in the kulture today. Nobody can afford the costs these multinational money hoarding pharm companies are wanting us to front (top 10 pharm companies made more than the remaining 490 fortune 500 firms). We can wish these costs to drop, we can demand changes - or, we could change our expectations, live with less of what they offer and let their money piles deplete themselves. These are small changes, but we can perhaps affect some change in their outrageous pricing tactics. I use most syringes at least 2 times. I use maybe two test strips per day. I use my insulin until it is gone. Waste not, want not. Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.

There is only one left that I know of, and that's the Charles Ray III foundation located at Charles Ray III (http://www.charlesray.g12.com/). You will have to come up with $800 in donations in order to receive a pump from them, though. So, I'd look for 80 friends with $10. :)

Can you encourage your daughter to sign up to DF and come and share some of her experiences? Although I've found the pump incredibly useful, many people can get great results without a pump, and you can get a good range of ideas here. While looking at options to get the pump, it might be very useful for her to look into adjustments to using injections, diet, lifestyle, other meds, to improve her control.
