Hi everyone, this will be mostly a rant so bear with me. I think I've finally figured out what my problem is.

I have been on birth control for a while over a year now, and I seem to have yeast infections all the time. Like seriously every week I'd get another one, and so my blood sugar goes all over the place.

I take it for hormonal acne, but I also take Spironolactone 50mg for it.

I am so frustrated because I eat yogurt and take Azo yeast and it STILL keeps coming back! I know the pill can make you more prone to yeast infections. I am so tired of it because I feel like I'm trying so hard to do everything right--don't binge on carbs, ride bike to work, etc. and it's still gotten worse. I've tried upping my Lantus and still the same deal. I can't figure out what the heck is going on and this is the only other thing I can think of because I haven't been sick since last fall.

I dont' really want to go off it but now that I think of it I did better before I went back on the pill and when I did was about the same time I started needing more insulin.

I'm going to try it for a week or so and see what happens. Will update with my results later. I don't know why I didn't figure this out before...

Before you give up Dar, you might try this. BD Lactinex. It is over the counter, but behind the counter because it must be refridgerated. It is a lactobacillus tablet that is much much much stronger than anything you can get from anything else. I was having problems from being on antibiotics so much and had no good flora left in my gut. Yeast infections were the result. Ask your pharmacist about it. It isn't cheap, but it may help you with the problem.

Thanks Nancy; if I'm wrong and this doesn't help I'll check that out.

Today--day 2: my highest reading was 152, after I came home from band and had rode my bike.

My goal for now is to keep it under 200. If I can do that, then under 180. Baby steps. I CAN do this. :)

Ugh, did bad today--ate too much at work. Tested at 108 before I left, rode bike, ate a little, tested at 247. Shot 4 units, ate a little more (not THAT much!!), rode bike home, test at 261.

Today it has been really humid and warm here, and really warm in the store. Does the heat affect anyone else's BS?

Also since I quit taking my pill I got my period early. Grrrr. >.<

Hello Darlene :), I was wondering just how far that bike ride is? And do you ride your bike like a bull at a gate or at a moderate speed? It's not that this question matters as you seem to have nutted out your high BG's Problem. Also I am sorry about your period. :( That must have sucked bad aye.

I hope that it's all worked out. ;):)

Hi Peter, my ride to work is about 1.75 miles (2km?) and I do only ride at moderate speed.

Another reason for constant yeast infections. You did not mention your age or if you have had kids, your weight, etc.
A prolapsed bladder.
Next time you see the gyno, ask.

Eh? I'm 26, don't have any kids (don't want any either), and thin. I don't see what that has to do with anything...

I go in for my pap and pelvic on July 13 though.

Today I did better at work--only 205. :D
