Eversince I was diagnosed w/T2, reduced my sugar intake and, carbs(I don't keep track), about 4 hrs after eating I break out in a whole body sweat. It drips profusely from face and bald head!
BS is between 5 and 6.5 when this happens. Doc has no advice. Research indicates secondary hyperhydrosis. There does not seem to be any solution for this. No odour and not excessive anywhere else but head. Any ideas??

Yup, keep a sweat towel handy. There really is no cure according to my own doctors. I've suffered from hyperhidrosis in the head and feet for years. I use foot powder in my shoes, and keep a sweat towel handy for when I'm outdoors to keep the salt out of my eyes (eww... sting!).

For a while, I used a roll on treatment on my feet, but it wasn't very feasible for my head. Since I started using foot powder, my feet are no longer macerated when I take off my socks. I suffered from a constant state of trench foot for years until then.

Good luck to you!

D

Thanks D. Not what I was hoping for! Just something else to live with I guess. I do appreciate your response.

Take care

Seriously, if it's an issue for you, you might want to talk to your regular doc about a referral to a dermatologist. You may have a secondary issue going on that is causing your hyperhidrosis. The dermatologist can discuss a treatment option with you that may fit your needs better.

Remember, it's never necessary to suffer the results of most medical conditions. There are usually treatments available to mask or cover some symptoms, and make living tolerable. Just remember, that most medications also carry hidden (or not so hidden) side effects that may cause issues down the road. I could take medication to stop my hyperhidrosis, but I have to be on a constant watch to ensure I don't suffer any liver or kidney damage. I've already lost my pancreas and thyroid. I can't afford to lose any more vital organs! LOL. I have found a way to live with the condition that works well for me. YMMV. :)
