So after my dieting, I started eating a bit again. Food is so lovely, it's been so long since I've been proper full.
Anyway, now it seems I need about 1 unit per 10g carb. It seems I'm about 50% higher on the insulin than what I used to be, from about 4 months ago.
Could it just be stress/hitting the gym too hard/less walking or illness?
Really frustrating when the control I had is just gone now.

not to be a nay sayer...but i'm not surprised..seems you were likely riding the honeymoon wave...unless you are experiencing increased stress and/or illness..keep testing!

Yeah, it does suck when honeymoon ends. :(
To reassure you a bit though, that's not an unusual post-honeymoon carbs to insulin ratio. Mine is actually 10 carbs per unit right now. :) Just keep testing and be prepared to shift your insulin amounts a lot in the coming days.
I didn't even have a carb per unit ratio until after I got my insulin pump (1 year post-diagnosis). I'd say you're well on the way to being in decent control post-honeymoon based on that alone! If your control really starts to get rocky, try easing up on what little carbs you have been eating and work on getting your basal rates straightened out. After that, ease back into your previous diet and make sure your carb to insulin ratio is correct (try repeating certain meals on a schedule of sorts, so you know that your carb counts are pretty close each time).
Might have to do that a few times depending on how rocky things get as your honeymoon ends.
