Hello
This is my first time to use a forum.
I am a type II diabetic and looking for others that have problems with frozen shoulder.
My left shoulder froze about 3 years ago. It took me almost a year to get 90% of my motion back. Now my right shoulder is frozen. The pain started six months ago and is getting worse. My right shoulder has been more painful than my left.
I have seen two different doctors and neither have helped me.

Welcome to the forums. Unfortunately I have no advice to give you but I'm sure that someone who has experienced this will be along shortly.
No help, just sympathy. My own case was mild, and not as long-lived as yours ... but it still was ****.
Lots and lots of iboprofen or anti-inflammatory of choice. Stretching as you can ... and no lifting. That is all I could do. I hated rolling over in the night more than anything! I never took it to my MD buit mentioned it at recent visit and just told him, I figured not much point.
Can you get help for sleeping at least?

Thanks for replying
I have researched frozen shoulder with diabetics on the internet and could no find a cause. I was wondering if it is a side effect from diabetic medications.
As for sleeping, I take medication for sleeping but I still wake up several times during the night aching.
You poor thing. Sleeping is the worst part.
No one seems ot understand frozen shoulder, but it seems to be more common in ALL diabetes and the recommendation seems to be to keep your blood sugars down. It MAY be autoimmune, like many cases of diabetes, itself. That is the only stuff I remember reading, on causes.

You have my deepest sympathy! I did exactly the same thing as you. I had frozen shoulder first in my left shoulder. The only way I could sleep even for an hour or so was by putting a pillow under my arm across my chest and laying halfway on my side. I would go through periods in the day where I would move my arm wrong and it would sit me on my butt screaming. It was so embarrassing. After that painful stage, I went into the aching stage that lasted for two years. MISERABLE! I finally got most of the motion back and had a year off before I did it with the right shoulder. The only thing that helped me was cortisone shots towards the end of the aching stage. I think it sped up the healing process.
I also looked for help. I looked on the internet, I went to doctors and came here looking for any kind of help. I did massage. The only thing I didn't try was accupunture. I would try that next time if, GOD FORBID, there is a next time.
It is slow, but it does heal. Until then, you are miserable, I know. I always worry that it will come back.
I know this isn't very helpful to you. Keep up any exercises you get from physical therapy. If you haven't done PT, request some. They do help you keep the range of motion.
You do have my sympathy. They need to find answers for this painful affliction.

I want to thank everyone for replying to my message.
It is nice to talk to others that have had the same problem. My family is tired of hearing me moan and groan and so am I.
Hoping to make many friends.:)
