Hello, I've been on levemir for about 2 months now and have noticed I've dropped about 7 pounds since then. My diet has not changed that much, I do eat a little less, and I still excercise the same. Is this normal? I also have far better control compared with the NPH I have been on for the past 20ish years. Just trying to get some insight from people that use levemir.;)

Since you're no longer "feeding" the NPH, that can account for a lot... I lost weight when I went on Lantus from NPH. I lost more weight when I started pumping, since I was able to fine-tune my insulin even more.

since I've made my original post, I have read the same thing you just said. I was not heavy by anymeans before, I hope I don't waste away to nothing;)

Making the switch myself after my last few lantus pens run out. I'm interested to see if there are any noticeable differences other than how long they last. I kinda like the idea of shaking up my "routine" after being on lantus for so long, good way to re-asses where I'm at.

I wasn't either :)
My weight loss combined was maybe 10lbs total.. over about a year. Nothing major, but if you didn't have much to lose it could be a problem.

Only Levimir?
No rapid, Novalog/Humulog?
I went from NPH to Lantus, Novalog and carb counting last summer I've lost 15-20 lbs.
I assume that is because I'm no longer feeding the bloody NPH.
But I also suspect that carb counting just has me more aware of what and how much I am eating.
I was not much overweight and don't think I'll have much trouble putting it back on if I want to.
