This is the last thing I will ever post here. Simple reason being...some of you on this site are downright ****ing mean. Too many people here are on high horses and I dont really give a **** about your opinions. Diabetics, I have found, can be just as bad as mothers. Judgmental, holier-than-thou, self absorbed...idiots. While others are just fine. So good luck to thoes of you who are nice and understanding human beings. Piss off to the rest.

I don't get that.

Piss isn't censored here, but "d ang" is??

Take care, shame you didn't stay long enough to get to know the bulk of us.

I am a rookie diabetic myself, so I am just who I am now, whom I have always been, and always shall be. It's too late for diabetes to reshape me :D

My advice, is to stick around.

Every forum on the planet is a mix of every personality you can think of, every nook and cranny and everywhere in real life is the same.

Take a step back, take some literal deep breaths, and maybe you'll change your mind.

I don't get it???? I've read every post Jojokitie has started or has been a part of and didn't find any meanness, self abosorbtion, or any "holier-than-thou" posts. Instead I've seen a lot of support and kindess to someone who is brand new. Is this a joke or what?

There's sometimes a post here or there where I think someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day, but for the vast majority of the time, DF members are the greatest anywhere!!

Any newbie that might be reading this, please judge for yourself. This forum has saved a lot of lives and brought great new friends together!

I don't really understand what prompted this post, unless you're just pregnant and hormonal, but we're NOT on a power trip.. I promise we're simply trying to let you know that YOU have been misinformed or misguided... and that you really need to learn a little more about nutrition and using insulin if you want to have a successful pregnancy or even just live complication-free in the future.

I'm sorry if it sometimes comes across as harsh, but when you post "do cheerios give you trouble" within 24 hours of a post about how awesome "sugar free" cake was.. it's clear that you really need some more education.

You've made no mention of what your A1C was and very little info about what insulin you're on.. and quite honestly, the fact that you say you were ONLY on Lantus before getting pregnant sounds SUPER suspect to a lot of us.. that just isn't how it works, and if you were REALLY a type one on Lantus, you would have been on a Basal/Bolus program already... and it doesn't sound like you were, nor does it sound like you've been given much D education either. However, no one can really offer much help/advice/guidance without knowing all the information, but based on what we've seen, it does seem clear that you need more information about food. I understand why you're so scared - if I had no idea what to eat, I would be too!

I think sometimes people voice their opinions objectively here, but I did not see anything judgemental in response to your posts.

I do hope you'll stay -- therei s so much you can learn here, and peopel to befriend!

Sorry you don't like the good advice here, as that's all I've seen given to you.

Bye!

read what helps and let go of the rest.

just like real life.

and take what makes your BS low and makes you smile the most with you.

be nice. I think that might of been kinda judgmental of you.

we do not want you to go.

I think the responses to Jojokittie's post "Super Excited" might have precipitated this. Good info, but maybe presented in an overly agressive manner in her eyes. Too bad, since there is so much to learn and there are so many great communicators here.

For someone who has just joined DF this month and has only posted 13 times, I feel you are leaving a bit prematurely. Hate to see you go, as there is a lot of info here you will never get from your Dr. or Endo., but if you feel you must, then.... bye.

p.s.....I "see" you haven't left yet....so why don't you stay, just a little bit longer.

I belong to many forums and this by far is one of the nicest forums. Rarely do I see a harsh comment or negativity to others. If you do not like what someone says just ignore it or better yet support your point and maybe they will become better informed. I hate to say it but being a new diabetic you have a lot to learn about this. I am fairly experienced with 35 years of being a type 1 and I learn a lot from this forum. Sit back relax and enjoy the forum. Not everyone sees it like you do.

Hormone problems brought you to this forum and hormone problems are making you leave. Ironic, huh? :elefant:

I haven't read your thread(s), but if you're unhappy, then go. But please find another diabetes forum. None of us can do it on our own.

I've quickly read all your threads.

You are totally over-reacting. Nobody criticized YOU. People you call "Judgmental, holier-than-thou, self absorbed...idiots" are actually long term diabetics with more knowledge than you will ever gain on your own, especially with your overly-defensive attitude.

Lighten up! You have one hellava long and hard journey in front of you. We all do. Instead of getting your panties in a knot, try discovering the point of the feedback given you. Ask "why?" or "why not?" if you don't understand.

Regarding some of the feedback. There are some rights and wrongs in this game, but usually it's a case of "your mileage may vary." What works for you may not work for me. What works for me may kill you! Your recommendation of buying a sugar-free cake could be very dangerous for most of us. You didn't have a negative reaction, but it may send Bob or Sue right into DKA. You obviously aren't aware of much of living with this disease. I'm 34 years in and still ****ing learning!

We do all want to help you.

I am sorry that you are leaving too. I'm new to this forum but glad to be here.

Knowing that 'sugar free' does NOT mean 'carbohydrate free' is a critical first step in controlling your BGs. It looks, to me, like people here are simply trying to help you avoid problems as you learn to get to grips with your disease.

All the best Jojo
