So today playing basketball I landed awkwardly on my ankle and heard it pop. I went to the hospital, x-rays came back as a severe sprain, thankfully not a broken bone. My ankle is absolutely massive, like the size of a softball and I can't [it any pressure on it. I tried to upload a pic but it said the file was too big. So far my BG's have been about normal, should I expect them to shoot up? Does anyone who has sprained their ankle have any advice for me. I'll be laying here the next couple of days... I'm on the crutches, ice, elevation, and Vicodin treatment plan lol.

Sorry to hear about your ankle. Sprains can be so frustrating.

You may find that your blood sugar does rise, just from your lack of exercise. Watch your carbs carefully and try to do some weights while sitting if you can. Any exercise is better than none. When your ankle permits, water exercise can keep the weight off your feet and your blood sugar down.

Been there.....no fun!

Here is a picture of it, I shrunk it to make it fit.

HOLY SWOLEN ANKLE BATMAN!!!!! A few months ago I stepped on a cat, and sprained my ankle and broke my 5th metatarsal in my foot, and it did not effect my glucose levels. I sure hope you get better soon:)
