Other than this one of course! Is there a general consensus out there?

Define powerful.
I don't necessarily equate big with effectiveness. Sometimes we need a smaller group to get a better sense of belonging. IMO any site where you can feel like your amoung friends is a powerful one.
There are many out there, most of them good. I haven't visited them all. There's a few I don't care for, mainly the email based ones like the old usenet.

The most useful, informative, and current. The one that has the most tools and perhaps downloadable content.

I like Diabetesforums.com and for you insulin pumpers: insulinpumpforums.com
The latter seems to be a smaller community, but I have learned a lot at that one.
