You would never know it, if you saw me. I am not big at all, in fact I am in really good shape and am pretty athletic.
I eat alot.
I mean I eat ALOT. My appetite for those that know me, borders legendary.
I am a bottomless pit. I will eat my meal, yours, the next persons and still be able to eat another and dessert.
I have no idea why I am able to do so, and have been like this since I was a kid, and pretty much have to eat every two hours or so. I could eat an entire loaf of bread in one sitting and drink two litres of milk to wash it all down.
Altho I do limit white flour products now, and only because of the spikes.
No, I don't have a family of tapeworms.
I don't even put the weight on, and I am pushing 40 and showing no signs of it affecting me.
I will eat anything to, any type of veggie, fruit, meat, fish, sauce, whatever.
Name it, I will eat it. Dead or alive even. Hah... I am the perfect dinner guest as I ALWAYS clean my plate.
I am not sure I could give up food, nor do I really want to.
I mean I am thinking about my next meal, while I am currently eating one.
Anyone else like this, or know someone like it?
Just curious...

My FIL - he's 66, weighs just about the same as he did when he was a wrestler in college with very similar physique, and eats a LOT. he eats pretty healthily for the most part but indulges in dessert and snacks all the time. And will eat whatever's left on my MIL's plate, my daughter's plate, my plate, whoever's at the table...he's just got unbelievably good metabolism i think. or he's a freak.

Oh I'm definitely like that, I just can't consume so much at one sitting. But as far as thinking about my next meal while I'm still eating this one . . . you betcha! I love food and I love to cook. I love to cook for people who love to eat! I used to take 1½ lb. loaf of bread outta the oven and DH & I would eat the whole thing if we didn't restrain ourselves. He wouldn't even bother with butter, but it just isn't the same without butter. I could cook a pound of breakfast sausage & eat every bite. But I'm obese . . . been obese for the last 25 years, ever since I had thyroid surgery & quit smoking in 1984!

Same here, Granny, except with me it's a pound of bacon :) DH used to laugh at me for eating a pound of bacon in one sitting.
I'm actually working on training myself NOT to eat so much -- to stop at "comfortably satisfied" instead of "overstuffed" -- but it's still a lot. Hubby and I hit Friendlys tonight and I got a grilled cheese, fries, and a 3-scoop Reeses Sundae. I was happily, comfortably full when I ate it, still satisfied now (although I could easily eat another meal if I wanted!), and sugar is 134 :) Don't ask how, I've been having major problems with sugars and this is a surprise. But now I'm thinking that we have no drinks.... maybe I should hit 7-11.... get some chips....

You have an excellent metabolic rate then. You remind me of a guy from an old website I used to frequent when I first went on the internet, 3dfiles.

my husband is like that. his metabolic rate is "warp speed" :p
he's 34 and 120 pounds (soaking wet and with clothes on). and if i'm being honest, he doesn't do any more "activity" than i do.
he eats enormous amounts of anything you put in front of him, and never gains an ounce.
in fact, when we were in scotland about 7 years ago he was determined to come back with the beginnings of a beer belly. it was a 3-week mission for him. we figured if anywhere, scotland's the place. he drank copious amounts of beer, ate loads of fatty, fried, battered foods... but in the end was defeated by his super human metabolism.
i'm extremely jealous.
but i am happy my son seems to have inherited his body type and metabolism. i just wish it was contagious!
My husband's family is SO NOTORIOUS, at a funeral someone remarked on the "groaning table" full of food, and the PRIEST actually said, "You must be an in-law, never been to a J%%% funeral? This won't be enough!" They are Belgian.
They are also notorious for "Eating a good meal before they die," in family lore ...

Strangely, I don't eat all that much some days & other I can't stop. For instance, yesterday, I didn't go low-carb at all, but I barely ate anything.
For breakfast, 1 corn-on-the-cob w/butter. Yeah, wierd breakfast, I know but I was in a rush & I'm trying to use the corn (which I bought when my neice was visiting & we forgot about it in the crisper drawer) before it spoils.
Snack: 1/8 of a bag of snack-sized Wasabi peanuts - would have eaten the whole bag hunger-wise, but they were gross. Didn't taste like Wasabi at all.
Lunch: no-sugar-added home-made chocolate shake. (milk, unsweetened cocoa, ice, nutrasweet) & banana
Dinner: 1 semi-large burrito. Could have eaten another one, but wasn't still really hungry so I stopped at one. Oh, and one Smirnoff Ice, which I probably wouldn't have even had if my friend hadn't just opened it & put it in my hand. LOL.
Some days, however, I will graze all day long.

Before I got dx'd with T2 I could order a Large Pizza with the works and eat it easily.
My belly and my appetite has shrunk.

I'm the "leftover vacuum" at home, but since counting carbs and what I eat in general lately, I've tried to tone it down (and also, my metabolism ain't what it used to be!). Before, I could outdo ANYone at a buffet and not really have it affect me :p

I don't eat much at all:eek: Before i was diagnosed with diabetes it sometimes happened i didn't eat for 24 hours simply because i wasn't hungry:eek: I still don't eat much, other than when i'm at work- then i have a pretty huge lunch simply to last through the afternoon.
Today for dinner i had one boiled egg, and some biscuits just to have something at all. Now i'm feeling slightly hungry so might have some fruit before sleep.
But i think amountwise, what i eat in a whole day might be what some of you would have for breakfast LOL
But i do need my carbs!
I do snack quite a bit through the day though:o But my meals are not very big usually.
