Hi there I am new to this site and have been reading quite a few threads which is quite intresting the only thing im confused about is I am from the U.K and our sugar reading read quite differently from you guys in the USA a perfect reading for me would be anything between 4.0 and 8.0 anything below 4.0 is reguarded as a hypo and anything really over 10 is high the lowest reading ive ever had is 1.2 where I passed out and had to have paramedics attend to me and the higest is 24.0 which is where I got ketones and fell really ill. I just wondered if anyone could covert these readings into the US version then I could get some idea about blood sugar readings I am reading about on these threads
many thanks

You can also use the converter on this site:
On the right hand menu on any page, click on "Converters", then on "Blood Glucose unit converter". A calculator will pop up for you.

use your calculator and adjust by a factor of 18:
4.0 * 18 = 72

Or skip the software and just multiply by 18. Simple.

Ditto, Joel. In general, being "good with numbers" has come in handy with diabetes! My mother told me long before the internet that I needed typing skills (but I don't WANT to be a secretary was my response!). She never told me about needing math though. That would not have been gender appropriate in those days!
