Ok.. ignore my post above. It doesn't make any sense. I'm sorry. My fasting glucose was 5.4 mmol/l, but by the hemoglobin A1C it says: 0.051.

0.051, if it's purely a decimal notation, that would equate to 5.1%. (0.051 is how 5.1% is written, decimally.)

That is only an educated guess as to what your reported lab results mean, however; it's probably worth a call to get clarification.

Thank you for your reply. You'd think I'd know because I just finished a diabetes education program LOL. That is one thing I didn't get to write down.. I'll have to go through my notes and it may even be there. Thank you again!

a 5.1 A1C means you are doing GREAT in your control!!! The A1C converts to the following BG averages:

If your A1C is this: Your average mean daily plasma blood sugar is around this:
A1C% mg/dl
12.0% = 345
11.0% = 310
10.0% = 275
9.0% = 240
8.0% = 205
7.0% = 170
6.0% = 135
5.0% = 100
4.0% = 65

So, for the last 90 days you have averaged BG of slightly over 100, which is excellent :)

I'm sure you will learn more here then from any diabetes education program.
Congrats on your great numbers.
