With reluctance, I'm giving my Endo's prescription for Januvia a trial run, and based on blood sugar readings, it's not really working. I awake around 120 and depending on what I eat, run between 120 and 150 2 hrs after a meal. I don't think I EVER drop much below 120, even with exercise. My low-carb diet is definitely helping keep my 2-hr post meal readings under 150, but I definitely need more variety in what I'm eating, especially for breakfast and lunch. Thankfully, I can tolerate more carbs at dinner, but in general I'm probably getting about 50 gr carbs a day. It is no wonder I'm losing weight again! I'm starting to come around to the idea that I need basal insulin cuz' with it, I could start lower and have a larger window to move up with a meal that contains some carbs.
