Anyone seen this show on Discovery Health? I watched it for the first time this morning and I actually like it. Not sure about his cauliflower ideas (:puke: ) as I'm not a cauliflower eater but most of his recipes looked and sounded good.

I do watch his show, often. He comes up with some great meal ideas. That's mostly why I watch, because he prepares appetizers, main course and dessert.
Not that it matters, but I'm not quite sure he is diabetic..?
I think there should be more "chefs" teaching low carb cooking.
Thanks for posting this! I did a search of the guide on my TV and did not find the TV show. I found his recipes online though and I happen to love cauliflower. I have a big one in my fridge right now waiting for me to do something creative with it.

He is not diabetic and no longer low carb, he "fell off the wagon" as it were, he is going into low GI now.
They had a marathon on fit TV a month or so ago and I noticed as the show progressed the carb counts for foods climbed steadily, especially desserts. He did have some good ideas though.
I've watched his show a few times and, sad to say, he bugs the heck out of me. Can't really put my finger on it, but maybe it's what cyberus noted: His foods don't really seem that low carb. I'd pit Frank against him any day :D !

Well shoot...I guess then, I've been watching re-runs of his show. On the last I saw, at his weigh-in, he was just shy of 300 lbs.. Thanks for the up date. :)
I thought I was onto something "new".

Why, Thank-You Jen! You'll make me blush  I must admit I watched one of this gentleman's recipe/videos on-line and found myself critiquing how it could be have been changed to make it even lower carb and still be just as tasty -- if not more so.
But still, ANYTHING that helps to raise awareness and get folks thinking along healthier lines gets my vote :top:
I caught part of a TV show the other day featuring two lady consumer advocates who call themselves "The Shopping Bags" -- based out of Vancouver BC I think -- anyhoo they were featuring a Low-fat cookbook and pitting their recipes against a chef who takes pride in using real ingredients like butter and lard... unfortunately the show was peppered with the usual "artery-clogging-fats" and "heart-attack-on-a-plate" sayings which everyone likes to trot out -- for shame :thumpdown
...and this is where I find out that you meant a different Frank! :musicus:

It was a sneaky progression for sure... I noticed simply because I was watching one show after another and the steady increase was obvious .... I mean really, I don't care WHAT you do to blackberries and cream cheese its NOT gonna be LOW carb!

Please feel free to visit my new blog. I post breakfast, lunch and dinner for every weekday. I spend the weekends testing recipes. I also have a great post explaining the concept and giving information and tips. There is also a poll so that you can let me know what kinds of recipes you'd like to see more of. I prepare all kinds of Italian, Chinese, Mexican, etc. classic restaurant style foods as well as fast foods. Each recipe has been updated with my methods and techniques that make them low carbohydrate and diabetic friendly and includes a comments section and a place to rate the recipe. I also hope to add short videos teaching various techniques and photos of the completed dishes. I just started the blog but it is coming along quite nicely. I also appreciate any input offered. Thanks and I hope you visit.
