So, hubby and I bought an exercise bike about a year ago, but we live in a tiny apartment (a tiny messy apartment!) so, although we tried to put it by the TV, it wound up actually facing a bookshelf. Now, I can't read on the bike due to motion sickness, and just listening to music doesn't cut it. I need the TV. But the thing was situated so I had to lean around the handles of the bike to see the TV, and I wound up hurting my neck and stopped riding. Then the bike became storage.

As we're cleaning, I got the grand idea to put the bike next to my husband's recliner -- it's a bit of an eyesore, but it fits and has a great view of our TV. Our absolutely lovely 47" LCD HDTV that was our "we're finally moving out of our parents place" gift to ourselves :)

I hope on the bike for 10 minutes when we mvoed it to check the placement. Perfect.

Later that day, the TV goes BZZZT! and stops working.

Thankfully, we bought the extended warranty, but Sears wont be here to fix it until August 4th. And I was seriously starting up my workout again.

I moped for a few days.

Then I got some DVDs from the library, converted them to .mp4, and put them on my PSP. It's not as cool as a TV, but for BBC period peices or old TV shows, it'll work alright.

So I did 10 miles today on that bike. 10 EFFIN MILES!! I can't remember the last time I even sat down to do 3 miles, let alone 10! 585 cals according to SparkPeople, although that seems a bit high. I'm proud of me!

I'm thinking of putting my conditioning DVDs on my computer, so I can still see the screen, and doing my weights and pilates that way -- when I get around to it :) For now, I really liked the bike ride. I may do another one tonight! There's another episode of that BBC period piece on my PSP still....

Yes -- if I can avoid crashing into the wall :) I woke up horribly sick to my stomach and dizzy. I think that has more to do with developing a cold and eating too much before bed (if I eat too much RIGHT before bed, it doesn't digest and I wake up really sick) than with the bike :) So I'm gonna skip breakfast, drink a lot of water, and hopefully get on the bike again this afternoon :)

I really really want to work up to an hour and a half a day (20 miles) broken into 10 miles in the morning, and 10 miles in the afternoon/evening. I want it to be a habit by the end of summer, so I'll make an effort to keep it up when school begins.
