Anger is a great energy source for exercise :) I just had the best 30 minute cardio of my diabetic life!

Therefore, I am.

Actually, that was pretty tame. There have been "discussions" here (not often) that would have made you feel as if you have just ran a marathon. 30 minutes is a piece of cake.....;)

However, anger = stress = something that's not good for you!

I agree...and DO try to exercise when stressed like that. I've noticed that when stressed or angered for any length of time, my BG can jump 40+ points otherwise :( (sigh).

My life has been unusually stressful these last several years (health issues, family stuff - not easy to ignore), and whether directly or indirectly (food-in-mouth disease), I believe it's what put me over the top with a Type 2 diagnosis.

Perhaps if I'd been less sedentary, and viewed exercise as a necessary practice/outlet instead of the boogeyman, I wouldn't be writing this right now... :o

Yeah, I know I need to be doing more than 30 minutes... and I probably could have at that point, but do keep in mind that I am 5ft2 and 275 pounds and was not doing anything aerobic until about two weeks ago. Gross as this may be to those of you who are in better shape, just being able to do 30 minutes without pausing for a moment is a huge step.

Please don't misunderstand me about my motivation for this post. I guess it could have come across as me recommending people get angry to have a better workout. That's not the way I meant it. I just had a really rough day yesterday, and I was angry/upset/stressed, and I guess what I was trying to get across was that it was apparently better for me to take those emotions out on my workout instead of continuing to mope.

But you're right, stress is bad. I need to reduce my stress somehow:)

I hear that! That's exactly where I'm at!

That is so true. When I get tired in the middle of my daily routine and want to give up, even if I am not angry about anything, I start forcing my breath and making angry faces. Then I try to think angry. It gets the adrenalin going and may not last for the whole routine, but if I keep doing it, it makes it easier to get to the end.

LOL... I did the same thing the other day! :)
