I am reading a book from my library -- ironically I checked it in as a new book in December!
Diabetes: Translating Research into Clinical Practice.
It neatly synopsizes (with opnion of course!) recent research in D.
There is a more liberal unified theory (ie, not Accelerator Hypothesis!), presented in the first chapter by Leonard C Harrison et al.
There are recommendations for SCREENING for T2D ... AND for T1D .... if you want to get this book on interlibrary loan (and perhaps show it to your Endo! :D ), the ISBN is:

I feel it is a very practical and sensible synopsis of recent research, and much of what I have WADED through recently is stated quite concisely.
