I meant to only eat a few pieces, but I ate the whole pizza! I then got sleepy, of course, and took a long nap. About three hours later I checked my bs, and it was 202. I knew I better get on my eliptical machine, so I did. I did that for ten minutes. My question is this. When I got off my eliptical machine and checked my bs, it was only 80! Is that possible only after ten min of exercise? I checked it twice to make sure. The total carbs I took in were 148.

Almost one hour later and my bs is now 145! Is it possible to go up if I haven't eaten anything?

Pizza is a difficult food for many of us. The few times i've tried, just eating ONE SLICE, i've noticed that my blood sugar will be okay at the 2 hr mark, only to rise and the 3 hr mark.

Your sleepiness was most likely due to your blood sugar elevation.

While exercise will help combat the elevation, it's not surprising that with that many carbs it would elevate again.

If I were you, i'd rethink pizza, and avoid it as much as possible. You could always make your own, by using the low-carb tortillas and toppings of your choice. Not quite the same, but good enough to quell the cravings.

What happened when you rode the bike was to burn up the glucose which was already in your blood stream. Your BG went back up because your body wasn't finished with producing glucose.

Pizza can take a long time to digest (all the fat slows down the carbs) so your BG can continue to rise for hours. So yes, even though you got it down at first it can go right back up.
