I've been making this for lunch/dinner. It's an easy meal to throw together on a Sunday and pack a weeks worth for meals and refrigerate or freeze.
2 pounds Ground Sirloin (sometimes I dice up 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts instead)
1/2 link of pork and venison sausage (or whatever you like)
Garlic powder to your taste
1 15oz can of diced tomatoes
2 small cans of tomato sauce
2 cups of frozen okra
1/2 cup frozen corn
1/2 medium size onion (cut up into thin crescent slices)
Season with garlic powder and brown the hamburger meat. Add the onions, sliced up sausage (thin coin size slices) and brown until sausage is cooked. Drain the fat (I use a big kitchen spoon and spoon it into a bowl and discard it). Add the cans of diced tomatoes and sauces. Mix well. Add frozen okra and corn. You may want to half fill one of the small cans that the tomato sauce was in with water if the meat mixture is too thick. Let simmer on med heat for about 30-35 mins.
Bon apetit!
