my local Chick fil a :)
I had always heard they are pretty good about accommodating all kinds of funky diets. I asked them today for a chicken club sandwich (grilled chicken, bacon, provolone, lettuce, and tomato) with no bun. That wasn't a problem. They actually didn't even charge me for the bun... which I was expecting I'd probably have to pay for. They even gave me a side cup of dill pickle slices for free :) a low carb, quick lunch on the go for less than four bucks!

<sigh> Used to heart them too...but can't have those tasty nuggets anymore. :( They still have good salads...but what's the point in going to fast food for those, lol.

I hear ya Katherine. I almost got a salad, but I knew if I did that I would want the breaded chicken, and we're going out to eat (probably at Outback Steakhouse) for dinner tonight... so I figured I needed to be super good for lunch in case I decided I wanted a piece of bread with my dinner.

I love Chick-fil-a too. I got one right around the corner. Since D and low-carb efforts, I switched from the regular Chick-fil-a sandwich to either the Chicken Club or the Nuggets. What's wrong with the tasty nuggets!? Are they bad for low carbing? :stupido2:

Just test, eat an order of nuggets, test again. Maybe they'll be okay for you! ;) ;) ;)

Testings is always the real answer but my guess would be to avoid those pesky breadcrumbs and then there's the dipping sauces... they may even inject HFCS into the chicken for all I know :)
I must admit when travelling for work I'll sometimes hit a fast food place... most are very accommodating with bun-less and sauce-less bacon-double-cheese-burgers for example... warp it in lettuce or eat it with a knife and fork.

I suppose you'll want me to put Tabasco on them? :D:D:D

Not really. A 12-pack has 15 grams of carbs and 3 grams of fiber (which is one carb exchange according to the diabetic exchange plan). The club sandwich has 34 grams of carbs and 7 grams of fiber... which is why I ordered it without the bun in light of my dinner plans :)
Of course, ymmv, but I've been able to eat the bun before without problems at dinner time.

Tabasco (or Frank's Hot Sauce) does go with everything :D
I've even found a very nice dark-chocolate with chilis in it... sounds odd until you remember that in Mexican cuisine they use chocolate in savoury food as well. I've tried it on a few of my friends and although they start out with that odd look, they then can't get enough of it :T

Oh yeah, Frank - that's true! I used to make jalapeño jelly when we grew tons of peppers in our garden. It's a sweet jelly, but tastes like jalapeño all right! Glad you reminded me of that!

The flour coating is the problem. It's not like I ate them all the time, but there's not much better than those tasty little nuggets. :D Sure does explain a lot of the bathroom visits though.
