Endo puts me on Lantus!

Saw the endo yesterday, and he was not happy with my post pranials on Januvia alone and low-carbing. Living life between 120 and 150 was getting old too. So, we decided to attempt to tackle the elevated basal levels with nightly Lantus (starting with 7 units). I actually had a morning reading below 120 today! Hopefully this will go well...wish me luck!

Thanks, Linda. I had my first ever 'normal' waking blood sugar reading today.....92! Guess I won't need to bump up my dose of Lantus beyond my starting dose of 7 units. Weird thing happened though with my breakfast meal today.... (a meal I've many times before with only a small effect of my blood sugar while starting elevated)....my 2 hr post pranial was 150! Maybe the Lantus is allowing my pancreas to rest a little too much? I suppose I need to give this some time...

WOW -- that is great. Mine was 90 also, on Met and no ACTOS! So I am still waiting to see what happens without the Actos ...

It'll be interesting to see what happens with your post prandials ... mine, too!
