When I change a set, I'm noticing that my old set "leaks" out a few drops of insulin when I remove it. I don't remove it for several hours after I insert the new one. Is this normal? It's only a few drops, but I'm wondering if I'm not getting my entire bolus or basal when I'm supposed to.

Hi Geisha Girl,
This happens to me too, with every set change, so I had assumed that it was normal.
I further assume that the few drops that leak out were from the "fixed prime".

I hate set changes because I run sky high after them. Generally I do them in the morning or late evening. It then is hard to tell if it's the problem due to eating lunch soon after. At night I generally won't find out if there's a problem till halfway through the night when I wake up running high. It's a pain but it's hard to tell how much insulin came out so I don't know how much extra to give.

are you sure it's insulin? your interstitial fluid looks the same as insulin.
