I've been following several folks talking about how quickly food moves out of the stomach, etc... and its effect on overall BG and spikes.
I've been wondering lately if the Nexium I've been on for over a year at two 40mg capsules a day has anything to do with the equation of digestion. Nexium, Protonix, Prevacid, Prylosec, etc are all Proton Pump Inhibitors which slow the secretion of Hydrocloric acid into the stomach. Are any of you Type 2's and on a Stomach Acid reducers like the above listed and what does anyone postulate about what effect it might have on the digestion process and resultant BG levels...
For those who haven't been following my thread in the TYPE 2 forum -- I'm 7 weeks into this process and still am not controlled yet. (Details in my signature). FBG at 145-155 and between 150-180 1 and 2 hours after meals and at bedtime.
Thanks for any experience you could share or articles you've read!
