Has anyone else noticed when your bs is high it hard to prick your finger? Also woke up this morning with super high bs. I changed sets/sites to be sure that was not the issue. It hurt like h-ll inserting; again my skin was like shoe leather.

Anyone experience this?

Hey Russell, the only times I used to get trouble was when poor control led to a kind of "frostbitten" effect on my extremities at times - tight and even swollen seeming fingers, poor bloodflow.

I don't know if that sounds like what you experience at all?

All that comes to my mind is dehydration . . .

That must be it!:) Never really thought about it. I am very sensitive to dehydration. Did it every hurt inserting my set this morning!!:( my bs was 300+. I am normally 100 or below in the morning.

Ate dinner late last night and drank a couple of beers. Will do it every time!:D

All that comes to my mind is dehydration . . .

When I have high BS my hands get very dry.

I always attributed the lack of blood flow with the syrupy state of my blood (when in a hyper), and not the thickness of my skin.
