I'm hooked up! :D Got done with my training about an hour ago. I keep reaching for the pump as if it was my phone. I was surprised at how painless the infusion set went in (Inset). My head is swimming right now, but I'm sure things will click soon enough. :D

Funny enough, my copy of Pumping Insulin came in the mail today too! :D

Congrats! I just got set up yesterday. Aside from some confusion over what to do with the pump at bedtime, it's been nothing but fun so far.

Yea! Hope you have a fairly smooth start up. I like the Insets, usually are painless. The first one I didn't even feel and made me think that it didn't work, but then most of the 90 degree infusion sets are like that. It's those that go in at an angle that made me realize I was a soprano. Of course others report no problems, so YMMV, as always. What I HATE about the insertion devices is the anticipation of the darn things releasing. I have the same problem with lancet devices. Wish they had a "hair trigger" so that I would know exactly when I touched it, it would fire. I think that's why I like the Cleos so much...not only does it hide the needle from the needle phob, I control the insertion. I'm a total wuss. And the crazy thing, these things rarely are painful...it's totally mental. Some day, maybe someday, I will get the heck over it!!!

I'm on my first inset, but I was happy with the insertion. The all-in-one case was kind of awkward the first time, that's for sure, but totally painless. I want to try the cleos, but my supplier doesn't carry them. I think I'm gonna avoid the angled sets... I don't see a real benefit, and they look way more intimidating. I'm already using 9mm cannulas, that's big enough. ;)

Welcome to the collective. You have now been assimilated. You are one of us now. LOL.

Just kidding with the above message. I love saying that to new pumpers cause it was said to me when I started. I'm using the Cleo sets and I love them. I rarely know they are there unless I hit up against them. I'm 2 yrs into pumping and I still pull out my worn copy of Pumping Insulin. It is a valuable asset to have.:)
