Waiting for my blackberry to go off to tell me my results are online. The BG went online yesterday a few hours after the blood draw.
The endo asked me to eat a large carb meal and then get my blood drawn at 1 hour.
I went to ToGos and bought a large tuna sandwich on whole wheat with mustard, tomatoes, onions, and peppers.
800 calories. 106 grams of carbs :( Normally I don't eat more than 40 grams in one sitting.
I still on rare occasions eat this sandwich but when I do, I split it in half and eat it for lunch and dinner. This is maybe once every two months when I know I'm going to be working late and I don't get the usual salad.
The difference is that this time I ate the entire thing. It made me realize how much smaller my stomach is now than it used to be 3 years ago. 3 years ago, I'd eat this very sandwich and not feel full after wards.
Yesterday, after half of it, I was full, but kept going as it was about 400 calories. Normally I don't consume more than that at once and I usually eat about 5 times a day to spread it out evenly.
Took 30 minutes to eat it. Tested 15 minutes postprandial(45 minutes after starting).
Was startled to see my BG at 130 already :( Tested again 30 minutes postprandial. BG rose to 140 :( Never seen it that high in the last 3 years except once before I lost weight and that was during a time when my typical peak was not more than 110 no matter what I ate.
45 minutes postprandial was 141.
55 minutes postprandial was 120
Blood drawn at 58 minutes. Lab came back at 114.
60 minutes postprandial was 110.
75 minutes postprandial was 90.
So basically, it shot up to 140 and within 30 minutes was back down to 90, or 50 pts. Seems really fast.
Then it slowly rose back to about 100 where it remained for until dinner.
Blood was drawn at its fastest rate of decline, so c-peptide should be about as high as it ever gets for me.
