So yesterday was part 2 of fruit experiment..a 2 1/2" diameter Granny Smith apple. :( 30 point spike 2 hours after enjoying that tart snappy devil! :( Goodbye Granny Smith apples.

Maybe try a smaller amount of apple but with some real peanut butter or cheese... adding the fat and protein at the same time can sometimes take the edge off these sugary treats ;)

Yup fruit alone is not the same as fruit with protein and fat ...

and I weigh them rather than measure ... still, the sugars can vary a lot.

Yahoo, I had a bit of cheese and an apple (same size as yesterday) and 2 hours later....up only 9 points!! :D

Thanks again for the tip, next test will be with the beloved orange. :D

I do well with apples as long as they are small ones.
My favorite are Gala apples!

Good luck with trying the orange next. What other fruits are you planning on testing out?

I'm thinking some red grapes, but it's hard to decide, all the fruit is in season here and it looks sooooo delicious! (Can't find an icon for rubbing my tummy)
