My blood work came back last week for my cholestrol, etc. My Trigs were 76, my HDL was 22, LDL, was N/A and total cholestrol was 100. I no that n/a means not available, so how can they get the total. And does n/a mean that the LDL was so low that it did not register. The Doc was happy but it has me a little confused. My LDL almost always run below 55. Maybe someone out there can give some input.....and please excuse some of the spelling.

LDL cholesterol is calculated from the other levels, and I think the formula is total cholesterol minus HDL, minus one-fifth of the trigliceride level.
So 20% of your trig would round down to 15, your HDL is 22. Combining those figures for a total of 37, to be subtracted from your total cholesterol leaves you LDL of 63.
