View Full Version : New to the forum
Hi all,
Just found this forum today (slow day at work) and thought I would join. Since I'm going to be starting on a pump soon ... hopefully ... the more people you know in the "biz" the better, right? I've had type 1 diabetes for 19 years now and am currently on 4 shots a day of Humalog and NPH. So far no complications and I'd say I'm in reasonably good health, could benefit from losing a few pounds though! I've only just recently become more involved with type 1 diabetes and diabetics.
I've lived in Manitoba all my life, and since I just bought a house here last summer, I imagine I'll be here a few more years. But who knows for sure right?! After reading some of the other "Introductions and Announcements" posts its nice to "meet" you!

Welcome :)
I'm glad you found us, and hopefully you'll want to stick around. ;)
I'm also Type 1, on a MM 511 pump, so if you have any questions about pumping feel free to PM anytime. Actually, I may not be the person to ask about pumping if you want to hear postive things. Let me explain...I have a complicated relationship with the pump. When it is working as it should, i love it, but then when it isn't...well I don't love it so much :p . I'd still be happy to give you any feedback I can.
I think it's great that you are doing so well after having diabetes for a decent amount of time. It sounds like you are doing a very good job taking care of yourself and that's an excellent accomplishmet . As for losing weight...well, join the club ;). I think it's something that we just have to keep working at, it takes a lot of patience and time...so don't give up. :)
Hope to see you around ;)

Hi Ang and Welcome. You have found, IMHO, the best diabetes group around.
Just a few short rules: Tony is the all-knowing leader of this pack, Shy is the Goddess of the Universe, RZR is always right (whatever !!), and lg is a perfect angel.

Welcome To You ANG: I am also glad you found us. :) That is
Terrific that you have no complications yet. Good Job. I wish you
Much Success with your "soon" pump. As you know, there are lots of
folks here to answer your pump questions. Do you know which one
you will be getting?
Congrats on the purchase of your new home. I do hope you are
enjoying it. I know it's alot of leg and paperwork, not to mention
many decisions. But it's all worth it in the end.
Best of Luck and post often. ;)
