Saw an ad for this meter on TV, and ordered one.
I've been using the freestyle lite for almost 2 years now, and it's been great. It's small, it has lights and it's just good imo.
But a new meter with the name nano, it has to be smaller right? No, it doesn't. Everything is a bit bigger, but not so much it's a pain.
BUT, I loooove the stabber because it has a cartridge containing 6 needles, so you just twist one end and press it in before you make your poor fingers bleed. The freestyle lite one can hurt sometimes, but this one has been completly painless.
I even think you can connect it via USB or something to the computer, a bit easier than the stuff the freestyle has.
I'll keep using it because of the finger stabber though, it's so much better than having to change it every time you stab your finger.

Viranth, apart from being a bit bigger, anything else about it strike you? It does have a light, right? Is that easy to use?
See, I tend to keep going back to accucheks for their simplicity and ergonomics, and I saw an ad for this the other day and got quite excited, but it's a little tricky to track down out here as of yet. I use the performa which is a typical "handful" sized tester. I'd love it if it's just a decent size down from that. I've had a few much smaller meters but issues like needing to turn them on (rather than the strip turning it on automatically) are a major pain for me.
Does it have a good case in your opinion? Thanks for posting your findings!

I would never use a meter just for the lancing device. The device you are talking about is the MultiClix, and you can mix and match devices. I use the MultiClix with all my meters (Freestyle Lite, OneTouch UltraSmart, and OneTouch Mini.) It's the same blood no matter what device you use and you are not bound to the device that comes with the meter. The Multi Clix will fit in a Freestyle Lite case.

Ditto! Use whatever meter you want with the Multiclix! I have been using the Multiclix since Accu-Chek sent me a free Aviva and strips. Loved both but pumps have been dictating my strips choices...Freestyle with Cozmo and OneTouch with the Ping...but they can't pry my Multiclix out of my hand!!!

The case isn't as good as the freestyle lite's case, it feels cheaper and it's "harder" to put the meter in, since it's just a thin elastic band there, compared to the big see through plastic on the freestyle lite's case.
It doesn't have lights, only on the display which is very good. But I miss the light from the freestyle lite.
The strips absorbs the blood MUCH better than the freestyle lite, I always have problems with the left side of the freestyle lite strips.
The multiclix is so good, and I can't believe I didn't think of this, use it with the freestyle lite, if I go back to it.
I think I'll continue to use the nano, it's working very good so far and I've already gotten used to that it's a bit bigger.

Thanks for the info. I agree a button and landing strip light is very handy too. Oh well. I think the strips are the same as for my accucheck "performa". They are great strips.
Tattoo, thanks a heap for offering your meter. I tell you what, I will do the rounds at a couple of chemists and see if I can find it, if not I'll let you know and we can work something out!
