I am trying to knit up something to keep my pump in while I sleep and for in my bra during the day. For sleeping, something that will stay put when I wear nightgowns (attaching to my undies makes them flip over or fall down!)
What are some things you would add if you could design your own? If I come up with something good, I might even give some away!

Recently I put my pump in a baby sock and pinned it to some sleep shorts. Now, I have done this many times, but haven't slept with it that way. It really worked great! I think the reason was because of the length created by the stretch of the sock. That little extra length kept the pump secure and fairly close to me...but it also allowed it to lay beside me, unlike if it were clipped to a waistband. I was thinking that something like a "belt" with the pump pocket mimicking that extra length the sock/pin gave me? No clothes necessary with a "belt" design. But I don't know how well it would stay in place...the belt turning.

Yeah, this is where I got the idea. I've been using a baby sock I knit that my toddler has grown out of, pinned to my jammies. I noticed it was getting a little too worn where the pin was and want to reinforce it there...
It will give me lots of opportunities to play with sock yarn! :D

I love the way knitting looks...but I don't have the patience so I totally envy those of you who love to knit. I used to do a lot of crocheting but unfortunately it causes carpal tunnel issues so I can't do so much of it any more.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
How about just using velcro on the socks and favorite jammies? That eliminates the damage by the pin. Or a button and a buttonhole?
Personally I like belts so when I go to the bathroom at night, I don't worry about where the pump is...it stays put. But I am excited about the knit socks, the length of them sounds good.

I think if I ever started pumping, I'd have to wear it as a belt at night.
Sorry to hear you can't crochet anymore, Katherine. I've got tendonitis in my wrists which gets aggravated when I do too much knitting or crocheting, so I quit for a long while. Just threw a baby shower today though & had to have cute baby stuff for that, so I knit & crocheted away. I've got one more hat I have to finish, then I'll take a bit of a break.

I use a belt at night. If it fits snugly, turning isn't a problem. I make the belts from cotton. A piece of 1 inch wide elastic in part of the belt makes them more comfortable. I attach a pocket to the belt or use the hook attachment that comes with the pump. The pockets are held closed with velcro.
