What's everybody's favorite store/internet bought low carb snacks and drinks? Have tried Atkins bars. They aren't to bad. Wasn't to crazy about Glucerna drinks and they actually seem a little high in carbs and sugar to me. Found a place in the web called ExtendBar that offers what appears to be some good diabetic stuff but have never tried them. (I would provide a link but don't want to do anything against forum rules). I ordered some low carb protein shakes from Premier Nutrition. I will let you know how they are after I get them.

I tend to stay away from most things that are promoted as being "low carb" because that tends to translate to "inflated price." Instead, I try to stick with foods that are naturally lower carb... the same kinds of things I recommended in your thread about high morning bg (cheese, peanut butter, almonds). I have even known others here to enjoy things like beef jerky or slices of deli meat with a piece of cheese (make sure the meet doesn't have hidden sugars in it; you'd be amazed how many do!).

The Atkins Endulge peanut caramel bars work well for me, and I also tried their chocolate coconut bars. Unfortunately, the choc. coconut bars are just too much of a good thing . . . I couldn't stop with one bar - I ate the whole boxful. http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b202/sneezytwo/ashamed.gif I'll stick with the less tempting peanut bars.

I like the Hood Calorie Countdown Chocolate milk.
As for bars, If I really want one, i'll get the South Beach bars or the Kashi bars. I do as well with them as I do with the glucerna or Atkins type bars.

The PowerBar Pria bars are okay - they run about 15g each and Luna (made by Clif) bars are decent too, but they have about 25g each. I sometimes eat one for a quick breakfast.
Most seem to have an odd flavor to me no matter what the flavor (except the Lemon Zest Luna) - kind of a bad carob aftertaste.

I tried the Atkins Peanut Butter Fudge bars (the breakfast ones) yesterday and I love them.

By the way, anyone ever have the Planter's Peanut Bars? OMG they are to die for! Planters - Bars (http://www.planters.com/varieties/bars.aspx)
They are very hard to find though... Publix was the only place I could find them, and they cannot seem to keep'em on the shelf :(

If I cannot pronounce most of the ingredients in the food, I won't eat it. I find many diabetic and low carb foods had many mystery ingredients.
