A few weeks ago I posted about how much I "hated' the pump because I was having these wacky high readings in the 300s. Many of the people who replied to my post suggested that I try a different infusion set, so I did! I'm on the Animas Ping and was using the Inset infusion set, but I had some old Comfort Shorts leftover from my first go-round on a pump so I decided to try those. I do seem to do better on an angled set. In the meantime a friend passed along some old Inset 30s that she had lying around (they're really old). They seemed to work pretty well, but I wanted to try the newer version of the Inset 30, so I called Animas. Animas sent me two, which I thought was kind of stingy, but basically I like the Infusion 30 set. Still it's not all roses quite yet: Tonight, I had to change my set 3 times because the first one hurt too much (Comfort Short), the second one (Inset 30) set off an occlusion alarm when I went to bolus for dinner, and the third one (Comfort Short) seems okay so far. I must admit that I'm somewhat tempted to go back to using the Comfort Shorts because it seems like I have better control of how they're inserted, but they don't allow for as much flexibility in insertion sites as automatic inserters do. Plus, it is nice not having to poke yourself the old-fashioned way.

So here's my question: Does anyone use the Inset 30 at a different angle than 30 degrees? What about 45 degrees? I have a whole boat load of Inset 30s being shipped to me from Animas, so I'm anxious to put them to good use.
