I had been taking the advice of a couple of folks on the forums and been actually eating breakfast for the past week or so, just to see what it would do to my fasting numbers in the morning.
I have been seeing great improvements in them over the past few days, especially after cutting the carbs down to about 70/day. Feeling pretty great, too. No brain fog, and no lethargy. Weight loss is progressing nicely, fasting numbers are around 85 these days, so all seems well.
Soooo, came home from work today after a long mind-numbing meeting and decided to make myself a very uncharacteristic cup of coffee before tackling Mount Laundry. Naturally, we happened to be out of the heavy cream I usually use in my hot beverages, so I used a tablespoon of my husband's non-dairy coffee creamer.
When I came home I tested and I was at 91. Drank the coffee, and an hour later I was at 164!
My husband is gonna be soooo mad that I tossed the entire decorative glass container of his non-dairy corn poison into the trash in a fit of pique after that reading.
Seriously.
But better his ire than my A1c. I am right now on my way to the local all-night pharmacy/convenience mart to get some more heavy cream. Lesson learned.
