Next week I might go to epcot with my family for my birthday. But I am a first time pumper on the ping pump for only a couple of months now and I wonder how walking around a park all day will effect my blood sugars.
should i set it so i only get 50-75% of my basal?
I wonder this because on lantus I did drop from walking around busch gardens all day.
Any other tips on going to parks w/ pump, please tell me.

I'd lower it by 75% basing my thought on prior experience. Another idea would be to drink something sweet or take a snack for the day, and/or don't take your full bolus when you eat lunch, or a combo of all these things.

Read your Owner's Manual about Amusement Parks and specific rides you can't go on with the pump. I seem to remember something about rides that use magnets for propulsion or braking are big no-no's

There was a warning here about pumps and certain rides: http://www.diabetesforums.com/forum/pumping-insulin/37133-pump-question.html#post428851 I have no idea how reliable the information is. You might like to check with your pump company or pump rep.

This may give an idea of what rides for which it should be taken off:

Before you go you should test your response to extended periods of walking. I use the Animas 2020 and find that all day walking - I set a temporary basal reate that is 20% less and I check my BG at least every 2 hours, bolus normally for my meals - works fine for me.
