Tingling or numb pinky

Has anyone had any issues with "tingly" or numb feeling in their pinky? I have had this on and off for the last few months, it has gotten much better. But I am just curious if anyone has had this issue. I have seen one doctor that said it is a result of an injury to my c4 years ago, another said it was due to computer usage. If you have this please let me know what it was and how it got better.

I have a herniated cervical disc, and have very little feeling, mostly tingling like it's asleep, in my index finger...so it could definitely be neck related.

Did it arise right away for you? The only neck injury I have ever suffered was 6 years ago. This just came up a few months ago.

Mine came up pretty quickly, lots of sudden neck and arm pain. When I went for my nerve conduction series, the doc knew right away which disc gave me problems based on which finger was numb.

Since this isn't a sudden thing, you might want to get checked for carpal tunnel as well if you do a lot of typing/computer work.

Do you find it gets less numb when you're not on the computer as much? Do anti-inflammatories help?

Could be a lot of things - neuropathy, carpal tunnel, tendonitis (although that usually is accompanied by pain in other parts of the hand) or the cervical injury you mentioned.

I actually have exactly that problem. My doctor sent me in for some tests to figure out if there was nerve damage. The doctors came to the conclusion that I have radial nerve neuropathy in my arms. My left arm is worse than my right arm. This also bothers my elbows sometimes also. My baby fingers always have a tingling almost numb feel to them.

I agree with genie86333. I do not have any injuries leading with these symptoms. But, I've had, do have and will most likely have standalone symptoms in the future. Examples would be working (in the past) in the farming industry. My hands would tingle then go numb from repetitve actions. Another example, when I go to sleep, my entire arms would pulsate then go completely numb. Last, watching a good movie on the "lazyboy" with my legs crossed. The crossed leg would go completely numb.
What I have done is soak my hands in really warm water before and after harsh, repetitive tasks. Also, I don't cross my legs any more. And, I toss and turn when arms go numb in my sleep. I've had neuropathy tests performed showing no signs in my feet but in my hands. Symptoms would go away before the so called "six month" recovery window.

I'm pretty similar to you Rost, so i avoid crossing my legs, also when in bed my hands quite often go numb and the only way to reverse this is to raise my hands above my head. Weird

Just got done reading an article of low Vit B-12. Symptoms include, Tingling in thighs, tingling or electric shocks in middle of palm but sometimes in little finger on the outside of the wrist. Sharp electric shocks along the hips or ribs. Facial pain sometimes associated with sinus pressure.

I had carpal tunnel in which ring and middle fingers were both numb. Then pinky became numb my doc said pinky was from cubital tunnel in elbow. Had carpal and cubital tunnel surgery have not had any problems since.

I suffer from numbness and tingling in my hands when lying in bed no one seems to know why though really uncomfortable.

Feet are pretty much numb most of the time for me, the over all area seems to be connected directly to my BG level.

Tingling along pinky edge of left hand is on/off, sometimes numb. Starting to feel some tingling in the middle of my palm.

I've read that metaformin accelerates this process of nerve damage, working hand in hand with the reduced circulation from stiffening blood vessels in the extremities by causing B vitamin shortages.

Does anyone here know of medical research that addresses this?
