There has been a new insulin developed and you have to come up with a name. What would it be?
I'll put in one,
Evilear (inspired by a hypo.)

In honour of another quite strange current thread: "SwampWater". I think it's got a ring to it, myself.

My gf has just started a nursing course. Yesterday they were in a "dummy" room in a hospital, set up to do nursey things on each other. And she noticed there were fake medications, one one was a made up vial that had been labelled 'Actrapid'.
The weird thing was that about a week ago we were cleaning under the house and I found a full penfill of Actrapid in an old bag, from approximately 10 years ago. This was pefect in a minutia kind of way, as she'd been asking about the colour coding on top of the penfills and I couldn't remember the colour of Actrapid. (yellowish orangish).
Anyway, I explained how it didn't Act so Rapid, really. Swampwater would be a better name for that vial now.
Here's another insulin name, inspired by my time with "fast" rated insulin - "Hopeitworksulin".

hmm... for a bolus type, how about "cellulin" since it's probably gonna come from an insulin cell in the pancreas ... and a basal could be "bantulin" after dr. banting...
ofcourse i would stick with easier to remember names like speedy and sunday driver...

Would it be wonderful to have an insulin that will be better matched for foods like Bread, Pizza, Or long lasting BG foods.
So Slowlin would be of choice. :o:):D
For Shiftzor, Brealin for bread. Would that work?

With a title like that, I thought that this was going to be a thread about making your own insulin, along the lines of brewing your own beer.
Mind you making my own is something I haven't done for > 30 years.

omg.. I just had the best idea!
When we want to eat, we just 'plug in' to a less pancreatically challenged individual...like a jumpstart on a car!
