I've been back to dieting and low carbing. I've had success, lost weight, and have literally kept my BGs straight lined. I have not gone over a 6.0 in 24 days, and have only had one low (a 3.6 once). So then, help me, tell me what the **** has been going on starting this Monday. BG is 9.5! last night I was at 8.0 and on Monday I went to 8.5??? What the ****. I'm eating nothing but low carbs, it's been 3.5 days and have been jogging every day, I should have used up all my left over stored glucose. Something is really F'd up inside of me right now and I don't have the slightest clue. It sucks because if I'm going to have a high blood sugar I might as well have something really great that I'd love with carbs in it, like chips, donuts, a Sub, a Mars bar, or a Burger and Fries. But NO, I've been as good as you can be and my BGs have been high this week and as a result my Ketones have gone down. It makes no sense.

I hear your frustration!
Were those higher numbers spikes after meals, or seemingly from basal issues?
Can you try on some temp basals over some periods of time, to see if simply increasing your basal rate will regain better numbers?
Maybe your body has kicked into a different rate of gluconeogenesis, perhaps something to do with the 2 or so weeks of low carb, and your basal is just not sufficient any more. I'll say casually, because I haven't fully explored it, I find that when I lower carbs my basal needs go up slightly across the board.
You might be having a slightly rough patch, but keep your head up, we have faith that you'll figure it out. It could be way, way worse... you're going great.

I think Subby has it with the Gluconeogenesis... don't forget that at least a portion of the Protein eaten is also converted to Glucose.
I don't think it is advisable to exhaust your Glyocogen stores... especially as a Type 1 with the risk of an Hypo.
