hello everyone,
this is my very first post, i am a 24 year guy and i am a type 1 from the last 6 years..regular with insulin...my weight is reducing and now i am just thinking of putting onn some weight....cud anyone suggest me some kind of suppliment for a quick weight gain and some thing that will not effect my sugar level....

First of all, Welcome to DF. :D How is your control? to gain wieght is something that many type 1's is something to dream about. What's your last A1C was like?

you wont really be able to put on weight of the right kind ie muscle mass without it affecting your BG. High protien and carb diet will do this but you will need to adjust insulin accordingly.

Why is your weight decreasing? Are your BG readings high? If your BGs are under control and you are on insulin it's really rather easy (too easy) to put on weight. Muscle ... I think you would need to exercise and probably so some weight training.

Exercise i.e. weight lifting or lots of cardio and eating larger quantities of protein i.e. whey protein. As already suggested make sure you adjust your insulin doses if you change your regime.

You also need to be in control of your bg levels to increase your weight. Poor bg management such as high A1c, high bg standard deviations and high average bg will make it impossible to put on weight. There are other reasons why you might lose weight (not just poor bg management), so if you have good control of your bg maybe consider speaking to a doctor.

If you put on weight you want to put on muscle weight not fat weight as increasing your muscle mass will help you manage your bg.
