Was in the Er yesterday for an allergic reaction to something I ate. I was given benedryl and steroids and a breathing treatment. The swelling is going down but the steroids is reeking havek on my BG. I am at 350 this morning, that was my rising, I took 20 units novolog and I am at 345. I just took another 15 units of novolog.....ugh. So, what do you think, do I take a chance and stop taking the pills for the allergy after this mornings dose? I have had BG like this since yesterday around noon.....not good.

OK, i don't know too much abt t2. I would say however that some meds do have an adverse effect on blood sugar levels, bear this in mind, but also contact your Dr/Endo and mention your problem immediately they may be aware of a different treatment. I presume you've checked the info on the back of your meds for any mention of t1/t2? Also check the ingredients for glucose, fructose, sucrose etc anything that ends in 'ose' basically. If it were me, i would add 10u ish to my normal amt of insulin, but as i said before i'm not up to speed on t2 treatments so please before you do anything like adjusting your insulin, go speak to your doc or endo.

Yeah, I talked to the doc in the ER because I was pretty sure that seroids raise blood glucose and they confirmed it. I acutally got it down this morning to 169, but I really don't want to struggle with it. I had to take a ton of novolog to get it down and I hate novolog
