Can someone tell me where to find the low carb tortillas? My grocery store doesn't carry any that are low carb and I have yet to find them elsewhere. Any suggestions?

These are available at our local Price Cutter Plus, in addition to this online link:

La Tortilla Factory Online Store (http://latortillafactory.elsstore.com/view/product/?id=17479&cid=589)

I actually usually find them at my local grocery store near the regular soft tortillas. Have you tried Wal Mart? Seems like I've bought them there before...

I found these at grocery store the other day as well! I was pumped. I didn't buy any though, because I'm not sure what I'd make with them. I need to figure out something to use them for.

Can you bake these to make tortilla chip type things?

Oh, the possibilities!

I have heard some say they crisp them in a skillet and use 'em for pizza crust, so I'm sure you could cut them up before crisping to make chips. I personally love just making regular old tacos with them... or chicken wraps! Yummy. :)

Between these and the low carb pitas, that's my BREAD.

I have not made chips yet but will now!

Teehee, I was more asking if it was possible. I'm guessing so. :)

I made burritos with 'em today & the kids thought they were fine. When the Oklahoma kids were here last month, I made quesadillas with 'em & they like 'em too. Chips, I'm not so sure - it's the corn tortillas that make good chips - these low-carb ones I'm getting are whole wheat.

If you want corn taco shells, La Tiara brand is very light & crisp, and only 4g of carb per shell.

Thanks for all the ideas. I never thought of buying them online! I was wanting to make quesidillas!

I make a LOT of those. So easy and fast.

Egg wraps for me. Egg and tomato is one of my favorite sandwiches. So glad I can have them with low carb tortillas! Scrambled egg whites with black pepper on top with diced bell pepper underneath and sliced tomatoes on top of the eggs, all wrapped inside a heated tortilla. some days with cheese added.

We still have peppers ripening red or orange in our garden. I don't know if anymore of the tomatoes will turn red. The tomatoes in any grocery just don't compare to homegrown!

Oh La Tortillas! I am so addicted to those... the possibilties...

They have 50 calorie ones at Giant Eagle where I live. With those, I like taking a Smart Dog (45 calories), and a piece of Kraft 2% Cheddar (another 45 calories). You can wrap the "hot dog" up in cheese and the tortilla, then microwave it for a healthy pig in a blanket that's only 140 calories!

Then, for the regular flavored ones that are 80 calories, I usually take a tablespoon of peanut butter, fat free cream cheese, eggbeaters (sounds gross, but SERIOUSLY TRY THIS!!!), sugar free maple syrup, and cinnamon all inside... Fold the wrap in half, grill it a bit, and you have a delicous... um I don't know what it's called, but it's pretty darn tasty!

The possibilities really are endless with low carb tortillas... like I said... they're a definite addiction (I'll be nice though and call them a "staple") of mine :)

Just a warning, I love low-carb tortillas (esp the whole wheat ones - yummy!) but I find they're often not anywhere close to as low-carb as claimed.. the ones I buy claim 4g net carbs, and my experience is that they're usually somewhere in the realm of 8-10g of effective carbs. Still not too bad considering a "normal" flour tortilla is 20-22g though.

Look for the mostly oat-bran ones -- they work for me, and that is saying something!

I seem to be able to metabolize carbs that many people cannot!
