Hi and welcome. You are on oral meds, so I take it you were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes? This is almost certain as you would have gone straight on to insulin if type 1. Type 1.5 is more of a grey area but probably mainly important if you are not getting results with your treatment. (or if that happens in the future).
If you don't know or it wasn't specified - now is the time to get to the doctor and ask for some specifics about your condition! It's very important to know if you might be getting insulin dependent or not, which is what type 1 involves.
Sounds to me like you are doing really well, there is a lot of knowledge here as ideas to further controlling your BG, all you need to do is read and ask if you want.

Hi lizton & Welcome!
The next time you see your doctor, ask him/her to do a C-Peptide test which will measure the amount of insulin your pancreas is producing. Your doctor should also do an A1c, which reflects your blood sugar control over a 3-month period.

Yes please have your A1-C and C-Peptide checked. If there is any question have your autoantibodies (4 of them) checked. Against common opinion, orals can have effect on type 1's during their honeymooning period. In my opinion all diabetics should have autoantibodies checked! They nearly killed me on orals!AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH misdiagnosis. LOL.
Cynthia has my agreement.
I am a T1.5 and while I am still having success with oral meds, I like to plan ahead and pushed for GAD antibody testing. Sho nuff, they were there. So ... now I know. At some point my beta cells will not be there for me, or at least not in the quantity needed to maintain oral meds, only!
