Hello , I had a glucose blood test today and it came out as 65 mg/dl (which is 3.6 in mmo/l)
is that considered normal? I'm not entirely sure as the results speicfies 70-100 as normal level , Do take in consideration that i made the test on an empty stomach,I was told not to eat for 12 hours+Get up 2 hours before the test
Edit: Incase its not clear,I havnt been diagnosed with diabetes as of yet , I'm just asking
if the test results are considered normal as its evening overhere now and i can't ask my doc til tomorrow

It's on the low side which is better than the high side. Was this a lab test or a hand held meter? Our meters can have a 20% variance which would plausibly make this a pretty normal reading.

Thanks for replying,That sure sounds reassuring , Let me see if i got this right ,
Your saying as long as its low and not high i'm unlikely to have diabetes? , It was a lab test

Riley, not being high might suggest you don't have a clear indication of diabetes with this test - however, blood sugars are a tricky thing, for example in some circumstances low results can indicate problems (I do not know how low and where you fall with that) and you should wait to talk to your doctor about this, who will have a whole lot more information about you at hand. Good luck.

Yep i'll talk with my doc tomorrow and we shall see but i don't think ill need any luck :D (Not with this at least) , From what i gather since my glucose isn't high i don't have diabetes , Plus according to google hypoglycemia (a low blood sugar condition) is only when the glucose level is below 65 mg/dl , So looks like i'm in the clear , Not entirely tho as my other test result (thyroid) shows it dropped significantly since last year so an underactive thyroid is probably the cause of my symptoms

Was the glucose level part of a routine blood panel, or were you specifically being tested for diabetes?

Not routine , Lately ive been feeling lack of energy, concentration, occasional higher heart beat and a feeling of somethin stuck in my throat, very frequent stiff neck and my throat/neck skin is very stiff and hard and i have to go hard on it when i shave which i hate doing because it causes red dots and some other redness , So the doc gave me a few tests including gluecose, thryoid, cholesterol and a few more which i don't remember , Last year my thryoid level (tsh) was 3.07 , Now its 2.62 , While it's still considered within the normal range it sure fits my symptoms and i'd say that a significant decrease

I'd definitely keep an eye on your thyroid with the symptoms you're mentioning. Even though you're still within normal limits, any variance should be rechecked at regular intervals, just to make sure it stabilizes....or that if it doesn't, you can have start treatment. Did the doctor palpate your neck to check for the start of a goiter?
